The Rocky Mountain Innovation Initiative, Northern Colorado Clean Energy Cluster and Larimer Bioscience Cluster present:
Innovation After Hours
This month's featured presentation :
Greeley Renewable Energy Park
A Feasibility Study
by:
Bruce Biggi, Economic Development Manager, City of Greeley
Justin Bzdek, President and Founder, Symbios Technologies
Northern Colorado is fast becoming a hub of research and technology development in the emerging renewable energy sector. The region's geographical location, entrepreneurial culture and agricultural heritage are also catalysts for ultimate large-scale deployment of these technologies. The Greeley Clean Energy Park project capitalizes on these elements in an example of regional collaboration.
The goal is to create a utility-scale energy park fueled in part by food processing and agricultural waste products from existing industry. Waste-to-energy, solar and engine efficiency technologies developed by northern Colorado researchers and entrepreneurs may all be incorporated to help achieve the project's objectives.
Mr. Biggi and Mr. Bzdek will present the findings from the Phase 1 Engineering and Business Feasibility study, which was funded by a grant from the State of Colorado Governor's Energy Office. Symbios Technologies, LLC, a Fort Collins based entrepreneurial startup company and member of the Rocky Mountain Innovation Initiative, was selected to lead the investigation in collaboration with the City of Greeley.
We are pleased to announce this first-ever Innovation After Hours event held in the City of Greeley. The intent is to help accelerate networking and collaboration opportunities that span the northern Colorado region. IAH hosting organizations Rocky Mountain Innovation Initiative, Northern Colorado Clean Energy Cluster and Larimer Bioscience Cluster all serve the greater "NoCo" area and promote regional collaboration.
We wish to extend a special invitation to all interested residents of Greeley and Weld County who have not yet attended one of these monthly forums to come and hear about this exciting project in their community and meet other members of the regional entrepreneurial network.
This Innovation After Hours event will be held at the newly opened Kress Cinema
located in downtown Greeley, Colorado
Special thanks to the City of Greeley and the UNC's Monfort College of Business for their support!
We'd also like to thank event sponsors EKS&H, CSU Ventures, the City of Fort Collins and the City of Loveland.
